Canyon Cattle Ranch

Saving America’s River

The Missouri River’s blue ribbon trout fishing draws more than 150,000 anglers a year. Visitors have always delighted in the scenic open lands and abundant wildlife on the river’s west bank from Craig to Dearborn. Thanks to the Canyon Cattle Company, those lands and the incredible experience of the wild river are now protected forever by a conservation easement.

Ranching Family United by Conservation

The Juedeman Family wanted to protect their 4,000-acre cattle ranch from development because they couldn’t picture it not existing for future generations of ranchers. They also value the wildlife that share the ranch. The property is regularly visited by whitetail and mule deer, elk, bighorn sheep, black bear, wolves, and wildlife turkey, as well as migratory bird species.

This conservation easement was funded by the Lewis & Clark County Open Space Bond.
